Called to wonder with Him
"therefore, behold, I will again do wonderful things with this people, with wonder upon wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hidden.” Isaiah 29:14
I discovered why I was meant to be here on earth, to know Jesus, to have a relationship with Him. I was called to wonder with Him in this life, at His creation, and at people that God has been put in my life, the cultures, the countries the Lord is taking me, the sun in the sky, the landscape in front of me, the sunset times, everything has wonder attached to it. I am called by God to wonder. His love never changes. and also my identity is not attached to what I do for work, or what I have in my possession, it is not attached to any material things.
It is not attached at my title in society, it's not attached at my cultural value. My identity is to be a daughter of God. I am a daughter. Wonder means amazement, awe, marvel, astonishing, and surprise, we look and look but we cannot believe our eyes. When we talk about God being a God of wonder, it means everything about God begins and ends with wonders. He carries out miraculous works and He alone can do great wonders.
We throw words like great, super, wonderful and incredible around too easily. There’s a huge gap between a winter wonderland and a wonderful savior. To understand this word, we must look to the original languages for insight In Hebrew, the word wonderful is “pala.” It comes from the root word for miracle. King James translates the word marvelous, wonder, and wonderful. It is something extraordinary. The word is often used of God’s acts of judgment and redemption.
I STAND IN AWE OF YOU
As a verb, it is based on the noun for ‘wonder, marvel,’ so it expresses the idea of doing or making a wondrous thing.” Found in both biblical and modern Hebrew, “pala” occurs some 70 times in the Hebrew Old Testament. The verb is found for the first time in Genesis 18:14, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”. Have you thought of these. I have caught myself so many times in my life, in complete wonder. This magazine is about moments of wonder in the ups and downs of my second year. I have seen wonder in all.
